Ogun Youth Council Holds State Management Meeting for 2nd Quarter, Approves Revalidation of Youth Organizations

The members of the 10th State Executive Council for the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter, on Thursday April 25, 2024, hosted Heads of state—wide youth Organisations, youth Coordinators of the twenty Local Government, and Heads of its Directorates at the second quarter of its State Management Meeting held at the Local Government Secretariat Hall, Itooro, Ijebu Ode Local Government.

The State meeting convened outside the State capital for the first time, and in line with the provisions of the NYCN 2018 Constitution, as amended, was part of the restructuring effort of the Olóyè—led administration to drive inclusiveness and ensure a sense of belonging to all districts of the State.

In his opening remark, the youth chairman, Olóyè Akolawole Shoremi, appreciated the youth Leaders for their unflinching support to his administration since the assumption of office about six months ago. He recalled the activities of the Council since the first State Management meeting as he acknowledged the solidarity of eminent personalities and youth stakeholders at the different occasions held so far.

Olóyè, during the proceedings of the meeting, further called for a revalidation of member organizations to verify active youth organizations across the state. According to him, there should be a continuous appraisal to ensure youth Organizations remain committed to their founding values.

The agenda of the day included reports on Constitution of State Directorates and Local Branch Elections, Revalidation of Member Organizations, OG—Cares Programme, Annual Dues, Business Workshop Development among others.

There were also goodwill messages from Leaders of the Council present at the meeting, including the 8th State Chairman of the Youth Council, Prince Adeleke Adebajo; the 8th State Deputy—Chairman, Com. Azeez Adegbite; and the pioneer youth Coordinator for Ijebu—Ode Local Government, Com. Odunsi.
