The Outgoing Chairman of Remo Youth Association; Com. Yaya Onagbesan appointed Director of Directorate of Art, Culture and Tourism, National Youth Council of Nigeria, Ogun State Chapter.
He's the former Deputy Coordinator of NYCN, Remo North LG (March 2020- March 2024)Treasurer, Remo Youth Association (2020-2022) and currently outgoing Chairman of Remo Youth Association.
His leadership career started from College of Education where he was elected as Academic Director of Accounting Students Association (2006), President of Accounting Students Association (2007), Deputy Chief Scribe of Council of Elders, FCE(T) Akoka( 2007), Class Governor of Economics Education Students, LASU( 2011).
Due to his passion for humanity and his community, he has joined so many oriented community services groups such as May Foundation International, Esoe Remo Networks, and the Remo 33 group. He is currently the president of May foundation International (Nigeria), Coordinator of Esoe Remo Networks (Nigeria)and the CEO of MetroTv Ode Remo, Ogun State; an online television established with the motive of taking Remo community to a global world.
He formerly held executive positions as internal auditor, assistant general secretary, and general secretary of Ode Remo Development Council.
He has served in various committees such as LAFOSE Organising Committee, Alaye Ode Coronation Committee, Eleposo Coronation, and other youth groups.
Currently, he steers the affair of Ode Remo Youth Association with the sole responsibility of coordinating the youth activities, which tends to enhance growth and development in the town.
As a trained Educationist, he is a teacher and orator of contemporary issues in the educational sector. He has champion educational projects such as symposium, debate competition, quiz competition, craft projects, and talent hunt.
Well I think my appointment is a feedback mechanism of my activities towards Art and Culture which must have emanated from the foremost festival in Ogun State; Lafose ; a Festival in my home town which I have been actively involved for about 17 years and other Activities such as Esoe Remo, The Remo Group couple with Youth activities.- Onagbesan.
Term of reference of his appointment include advocating for policies and programmes that promote youth participation, creativity and entrepreneurship in the art, culture and tourism sectors; support initiative that provides access to art, culture and tourism; promote awareness and participation of diverse cultural heritage and sustainable tourism practices among youth.
