Governor Sanwo-Olu Highlights Nigeria's Role in Shaping Africa's Narrative at Crans Montana Forum

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu delivered a compelling speech at the 36th annual session of the Crans Montana Forum in Belgium, emphasizing Nigeria's significant contributions to reshaping Africa's global image.

In his address, Governor Sanwo-Olu challenged historical misconceptions that have portrayed Africa as a global liability. He argued for a redefined narrative that accurately reflects the continent's true essence and value.

"Africa's value is boundless," Sanwo-Olu asserted, highlighting the continent's vast reserves of crucial resources, including cobalt, diamonds, and uranium. He noted that Africa holds 65% of the world's arable land, positioning it as a key player in global food security, and approximately 40% of the world's mineral reserves, with substantial deposits of gold, chromium, and platinum.

Sanwo-Olu emphasized that Africa is no longer seeking mere inclusion on the global stage but is positioning itself as an equal partner. "We are ready to actively engage and collaborate as a valuable and essential player in shaping the future of the world," he declared.

The Governor underscored the pivotal role of Lagos as a hub of innovation and progress in Nigeria, driving forward the narrative of Africa's ascendancy. He called for unity in purpose and vision to redefine Africa's story and showcase the continent's true potential to the world.

This speech marks a significant step in Nigeria's efforts to assert itself as a leader in Africa's transformation and to reshape global perceptions of the continent.
