Ogun Youth Chairman Arrives Abuja For NYCN National Management Meeting, As Sokubo Urges Unity Among Youth Stakeholders

The President of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Amb. Sokubo Sara-Igbe Sokubo, has urged eminent Stakeholders of the youth constituency to remain united as the youth Council is set to commence the commemoration of her sixtieth year anniversary with remarkable events already slated for the celebration. Sokubo made this known at the 2024 second National Management Meeting held at Utako, Abuja between July 6—8, 2024.

Arriving at the venue of the meeting in the company of other Southwest Chairmen, the youth Chairman of Ogun State, Olóyè Akolawole Shoremi gave a report of youth activities in Ogun State to the national leadership as he expressed his profound appreciation for the continued support and solidarity of the National President, Amb. Sokubo.

Addressing the audience, Sokubo reiterated the commitment of the National Executive Council in tackling issues affecting every State leadership. Citing the huge financial commitment and technical support offered to the success of the recently held Elective Congress of the youth Council in Lagos State, he assured all Stakeholders of mobilizing every needed resource to ensure the interests of the youth are protected by every State Government and the Federal Government at large. “In the sixty years of existence of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, we just set a record of the first peaceful and generally accepted Elective Congress in the history of Lagos State.

“Prior to this achievement, aside the input of the State Government, we committed enough resources to ensure the success of the Elective Congress in Ogun State. God willingly, Osun State will unarguably be another success.

“As we continue to witness these records in Southwest Nigeria, no geopolitical zone will be left out. We will ensure stability for the youth leadership of every State. This is a non-negotiable pledge,” Sokubo said.

The Stakeholders’ meeting, which had the presence of Staff of the Federal Ministry of Youth Development, members of the National Executive Council, Heads of nationwide youth Organisations, and State Chairmen of the youth Council made a review of other critical agendas bothering the youth constituency across Nigeria.

There were also inaugurations of Committees on the National Judicial Council, Affiliation and Revalidation, Constitutional Review, NYCN Sixtieth Anniversary, and composition of the National Advisory Council announced to be chaired by Hon. Ololade Sonibare.
