Nigerian Army Unearths Arms Cache in Ughelli, Dismantles Gun Runner's Armoury

...Troops Seize Weapons and Apprehend Suspects in Successful Raid

In a decisive move to combat the proliferation of illegal firearms in the South South Region, Nigerian Army forces executed a meticulously planned operation resulting in the discovery and dismantling of a significant arms cache in Olota Community, Ughelli South Local Government Area, Delta State.

Acting on precise intelligence, military personnel conducted a targeted raid on the residence of Mr. Kenneth, a known gun runner, where they uncovered a concealed armoury. The search yielded a substantial arsenal, including a G3 Rifle, 853 rounds of 7.62mm NATO ammunition, and 19 rounds of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Expanding their sweep to neighboring areas, troops seized four additional G3 Rifles with magazines, one Pump Action Semi-Automatic Gun, three Sub-Machine Guns (SMG) with magazines, and 476 Live Cartridges. In addition to these weapons, authorities confiscated five locally fabricated guns, a sizable quantity of suspected cannabis sativa, and two speed boats equipped with 75 Horsepower outboard engines.

During the operation, three suspects were apprehended, signaling a significant blow to the network of illegal arms trafficking in the region. The Nigerian Army reaffirms its unwavering commitment to neutralizing criminal elements and maintaining peace and security for law-abiding citizens across the nation.
