Oyekan Felicitates Olufowobi on His 60th Birthday as Family, Colleagues and Friends Celebrates Retiring Permanent Secretary on Thursday 25th April
Tope OYEKAN, a retired Deputy Director of Information in the Ogun State Local Government Service, and erstwhile Head, Information, Education, and Sports, Ikenne Local Government,felicitated Dr. Adeolu Oluseun OLUFOWOBI, FCPA, Permanent Secretary, Ogun State Local Government Service Commission, as he celebrates 60th birthday and also retires from the Ogun State Civil Service on Thursday, 25th April, 2024, after over 33 years of diligent, impactful, and remarkable service.
OYEKAN in a congratulatory message, rejoiced with the celebrant for the grace of attaining the diamond age and also bowing out gloriously from the service, describing him as an Unassuming Gentleman, a God-fearing Boss, a Quintessential Team-lead, a highly Cerebral Personality, and a great Role-model that is worthy of emulation, recalling his memorable working relationship with him at Ijebu East, Odeda, and Ijebu Ode Local Governments.
He lauded OLUFOWOBI, a Seasoned Medical Practitioner and Versatile Administrator, for providing effective and efficient leadership, leading a crop of competent professionals as a management team at the commission.
According to him, the team had collaborated effectively and operated in synergy with the political functionaries to successfully deliver on the vision and mission statements of the commission, in line with the "Building Our Future Together" Agenda, and the "ISEYA" Mantra of the Prince Dapo Abiodun, MFR-led administration in Ogun State.
He commended him for his ingenuity in turning around the fortunes of the commission as reflected in the achievements recorded during his tenure, which include the promotion of job ethics, maintaining discipline, regular training and retraining of personnel, timely promotion of officers, employment of new staff, in particular, the healthcare workers, and review of staff regulations.
This, according to him, has led to improved productivity and quality service delivery at the grassroots. A man of impeccable character, OLUFOWOBI's positive attributes, had greatly helped him in his day-to-day management of both human and material resources at the commission.
He therefore wished the celebrant an eventful and remarkable celebration, as he prayed to God to grant him a healthy, fulfilling, and purposeful life after retirement.
Appointed as a Permanent Secretary on the 17th of October, 2021, by Gov. Dapo ABIODUN, MFR, Dr. OLUFOWOBI was until his appointment, a Head of Local Government Administration, and Director, Manpower Development and Training, at the commission. He has prior to that served as Head of Local Government Administration and Medical Officer of Health/Primary Health Care Coordinator at various local governments across Ogun State.
Born on the 25th of April 1964 into the family of Pastor and Mrs. Emmanuel Adekunle OLUFOWOBI of Agbodu Compound, Porogun Quarters, Ijebu Ode, he attended the famous Ijebu Ode Grammar School and the prestigious University of Lagos, where he obtained the West African Secondary School Leaving Certificate, Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and Masters in Public Health (MPH), respectively. He also holds a Postgraduate Degree in Public Administration (PGDPA) from the Administrative Staff College of Nigeria (ASCON), Topo, Badagry.
He joined the Ogun State Local Government Service as a Medical Officer II in July 1990, and became a Chief Consultant GL 17 in 2007, and was appointed a Head of Local Government Administration, GL 17 in July 2014.

Meanwhile, plans are in advance stage for a special celebration of the twin event, as a celebration party in honour of the retiring Permanent Secretary has been put together, courtesy of family, colleagues, and friends, and is slated to hold at Ijebu Ode on Thursday, 25th April, 2024.
The committee in charge of the planning of the event under the leadership of newly-appointed Permanent Secretary of the Local Government Service Commission, Engr (Mrs.) Olanike OGUNBONA, FNSE, has been busy putting final touches to the preparation towards having a hitch-free and fun-filled celebration.
