The State Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Olóyè Akolawole Shoremi, has been described as an exemplary role model actively leading the youth constituency of Ogun State.
This eulogy was the submission of the youth wing of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Ogun State Command, leading to the investiture of the youth Chairman as its Patron at the ceremonial event in honour of the retirement of Ogun State’s Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alamutu PSC, yesterday December 5, 2024, at the Police Headquarters, Eleweran, Abeokuta.
Delivering the lecture of the day tagged ‘Reward for Bravery in Service Lies in Appreciation’, the State PCRC Chairman, Dr. Samson Popoola JP, stated that the occasion was not only to celebrate Alamutu and revered dignitaries but also to leave a lasting impression of gratitude in the lives of upcoming ranks and file, knowing that every bit of our acts of commission or ommision is essential in the journey of service, as it will either make or mar us.
“As a critical Stakeholder in the community security, and support for the Police, we as PCRC members are committed to recognising and rewarding excellence, community engagement, and people friendly disposition of all officers and men in the Ogun State Command,” Popoola stated.
In an interview with the pressmen, the youth Chairman lauded the PCRC as a respected Organisation that has significantly improved community policing across Ogun communities.
Shoremi equally expressed his appreciation for the honour bestowed upon him describing his investiture as an acknowledgement of his contributions, and a call for greater commitment to youth development of the State.
The event, held under the Chairmanship of the Olowu of Owu Kingdom, HRM Oba (Prof.) Saka Matemilola, Otileta VII, ably represented by the Orunto of Owu Kingdom, Dr. Abiodun Lasile, had in attendance eminent personalities as special Guests.
